Originally from the small town of Beecher, Illinois, Dr. Hodgett found his calling in general surgery early on, inspired by his older brother. He completed his medical training at the Medical College of Wisconsin and his residency at the University of South Florida.
Driven by a passion for helping patients heal faster with less pain, he completed a prestigious fellowship at Washington University in advanced laparoscopic and bariatric surgery. For the past 16 years, Dr. Hodgett has served the Jacksonville community, performing over 2,000 robotic cases and several thousand bariatric operations.
He is not just a surgeon, but a pioneer in his field — helping design new robotic surgical technologies and teaching other doctors. His philosophy is simple: empower patients with knowledge and use the most advanced, minimally invasive techniques to get them back to the lives they love.
When he's not in the operating room, you can find him playing golf, practicing yoga, or spending time with his wife and two daughters.
